Star Terms of Service

Comprehensive rules governing digital Stars, purchase contracts, anti-whale velocity limits, and closed-loop platform utility.

Effective: September 2026 Last Updated: September 2026 Version: 1.0.0 (Production Candidate)
Notice Regarding Legal Status [TODO: Legal Counsel Review]

This policy document represents an operational production draft established under our architectural and compliance invariants. Final jurisdictional verification, statutory filings, and sign-offs by external legal counsel remain scheduled prior to general commercial availability. All provisions apply strictly to platform interactions.

1. Nature and Legal Classification of Stars

"Stars" are digital entertainment tokens sold on AnimeArena.live solely for the purpose of participating in competitive anime fandom voting, community leaderboards, and seasonal tournament brackets.

When you purchase Stars, you acquire a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable license to access digital ranking features on the Platform. You do not acquire legal ownership of any property, digital currency, crypto asset, or stored monetary value.

2. Essential Invariants of the Star Utility System

  • No Monetary Value: Stars possess no cash value, market value, or monetary equivalent. They cannot be redeemed for fiat currencies (USD, INR, EUR, etc.), cryptocurrencies, goods, or services outside AnimeArena.
  • Closed-Loop System: Stars exist exclusively within the AnimeArena software architecture. Peer-to-peer transfers, trading, selling, account gifting, and secondary market listings are strictly prohibited and technically impossible.
  • Non-Gambling Assurance: Stars cannot be wagered, staked, or bet. Allocating Stars to an anime does not enter the user into any lottery, contest of chance, or sweepstakes. No monetary, physical, or financial reward is provided to users whose backed anime wins.
  • Immediate Consumption: Allocating Stars to an anime in a battle or leaderboard permanently burns the tokens and credits the points immediately to the series tally. Spent Stars cannot be retracted, reversed, or refunded.

3. Merchant of Record & Billing Invariants

All transactions for Star purchases are processed through authorized payment infrastructure. Depending on your geographical jurisdiction, payments are billed by our designated Merchant of Record (MoR) or licensed payment aggregator.

Charges on your payment statement will appear under the name of our payment processing partner (e.g., WHOP*ANIMEARENA or ANIMEARENA TECH). You agree to pay all applicable fees, local sales taxes, Goods and Services Tax (GST), Value Added Tax (VAT), or other statutory assessments applicable in your jurisdiction.

4. Anti-Whale Velocity Limits & Platform Safeguards

To ensure platform integrity and prevent disproportionate financial dominance over community leaderboards, AnimeArena enforces hard architectural caps:

  • Per-Series Daily Cap: A single account may allocate a maximum of 5,000 Stars per anime per rolling 24-hour period.
  • Anti-Sniping Dynamic Closes: In timed head-to-head battles, high-velocity Star allocations within the final 2 minutes trigger automatic soft extensions to eliminate last-second sniping bot attacks.
  • Sybil Defense: Utilizing multiple accounts or bots to bypass velocity limits is an actionable violation resulting in permanent account termination and forfeiture of unspent balances.

5. Expiration & Inactive Accounts

Unallocated Stars remain in your digital wallet as long as your account remains active. An account that remains dormant without login or platform interaction for continuous twelve (12) months may be classified as inactive, and any remaining license rights may expire following email notification in accordance with applicable statutory dormancy requirements.

6. Refund Policy & Revocation

Because Stars are digital content immediately credited upon successful payment, purchases are generally final and non-refundable once delivered, in accordance with applicable consumer protection legislation.

In cases of proven unauthorized account compromise, duplicate technical billing, or merchant processing failures, refund requests will be investigated pursuant to our Refund & Dispute Policy. If an unauthorized chargeback is filed, the associated account will be placed under immediate fraud lock.
