Ranking Integrity & Fair Play Policy

Architectural commitments, anti-whale controls, anti-sniping algorithms, and mathematical guarantees governing community standings.

Effective: September 2026 Last Updated: September 2026 Version: 1.0.0 (Production Candidate)
Notice Regarding Legal Status [TODO: Legal Counsel Review]

This policy document represents an operational production draft established under our architectural and compliance invariants. Final jurisdictional verification, statutory filings, and sign-offs by external legal counsel remain scheduled prior to general commercial availability. All provisions apply strictly to platform interactions.

1. Core Principles of Ranking Integrity

AnimeArena was built to settle anime rivalries transparently. To earn the enduring trust of global anime fandoms, our platform operates on strict mathematical invariants:

  • No Fake Data Guarantee: Every star, vote, and placement on our leaderboards is generated by authentic user activity. AnimeArena never injects synthetic house votes, simulated artificial activity, or bot participants to inflate numbers or create false competition.
  • 1 Star = 1 Ranking Point: The mathematical relationship between star allocation and point crediting is exact, constant, and deterministic across all battles and leaderboards.
  • Immutable Ledger Recording: All star allocations are atomically written to a PostgreSQL double-entry transaction ledger with advisory locking to ensure zero race conditions or phantom points.

2. Anti-Whale Velocity Controls

Community standings should reflect broad fandom enthusiasm, not the unchecked financial dominance of a single actor. We enforce strict anti-whale invariants:

  • 24-Hour Velocity Cap: An individual user account may contribute a maximum of 5,000 Stars to a single anime within any rolling 24-hour window.
  • Sybil Defense: Attempting to evade velocity limits by orchestrating multiple accounts is strictly prohibited. Coordinated Sybil rings are flagged by our anomaly detection engine, and votes are stripped.

3. Anti-Sniping & Soft-Close Architecture

In timed head-to-head battles and tournament matches, last-second automated bot sniping undermines fair play. To guarantee fair competition:

  • Dynamic Soft-Close Window: If substantial Star volume is allocated within the final two (2) minutes of a battle, the battle countdown automatically extends by an additional two (2) minutes.
  • Extension Limit: Extensions may occur up to three (3) times per battle, allowing human supporters of both series an equal, transparent window to respond.

4. Auditability & Anomaly Resolution

Our operations team monitors voting velocity anomalies in real time. If suspicious activity, credit card fraud, or script exploitation is detected:

  • Votes traced to fraudulent or unverified sources are invalidated.
  • Leaderboard tallies are recalculated atomically without affecting legitimate community votes.
  • A public incident log or admin resolution notice is maintained for transparency.

5. Inquiries & Integrity Reports

If you observe irregular voting spikes or suspect voting manipulation in any active battle, please contact our integrity team at [email protected].
